After a quick check, he told me the battery is still good, just need more time under light to get charged. Then last month it was acting up again so I took it back. Again, turned out it was just a dead battery; he processed it as a warranty return on the battery even though I couldn't remember for sure how long it had been since I'd been there before. Very kind. I went to Mr.W because Tiffany & Co declined to fill in the dent in my bangle and would only want to replace almost the entire bangle which would have costed $1200 (bangle retail value $1600).

Mr.W and his jewelry master took extra time to fill in the dent with gold on my bangle and polish and smooth it out many times such that the dent was almost no longer visible. All fixed under $200.

My watch broke and it was less than a year since I bought it from the manufacturer. It was still under the warranty but it broke after I attempted to change the battery. In order for me to get it fixed, I would need to pay $25 USD and ship it over to the States where they will assess the repair and determine if it's covered under warranty. This did not give me peace of mind. While Googling a watch repair shop, I came across Mr. W Workshop. Willis' honesty and willingness to help without even talking about price first gave me the peace of mind that their business focuses on people first. I recently visited this shop after reading all the positive reviews and met Will for a small but tricky strap change job. Will did a great job but next day i noticed a minor issue and took it back to him. He gave it his immediate attention and tried to fix it but then decided to replace a part of the strap with another new one as he himself was not feeling satisfied. Hard to find someone like that these days. He seems to be really after quality work and take good pride in his work. Such a pleasure to work with him. Will highly recommend him.

Quick and professional battery change.

There are very few watch repair shops left anywhere near Richmond. So when I came across a watch bracelet that was giving me a problem, I was glad to find this shop. I went in during the afternoon and the fellow working there was able to help me immediately. I explained the problem I was having, which was that the bracelet had a very unusual type of friction pin and they couldn't be removed to resize the bracelet.

He took the watch and the bracelet and was able to try using some of his tools, however the bracelet seemed to have a problem which even his tools could not fix. We talked about some options, and I was on my way. So, even though my bracelet could not be fixed here, I really appreciated the time he took to look at it and try to fix it for me. He did not charge me for any of his time and I would definitely go back in the future for any of my other watches. I am giving a 5-star rating as the service was perfect and I would expect it would be just as good on any other visit.

Willis , the owner and only employee, was kind, fast, and charges less than 1/2 what the Bay charges. I learned after talking to him that he used to work at the bay himself, until he decided to start his own store.
I suggest you call in advance to make sure he is there, and if you need help getting to the store. It is in Aberdeen Square, on the 3rd floor.

I know I will go to him again if I ever need anything done for my watches.

After reading all review on here, I decided to bring my Choppard watch to Mr. W Workshop for battery change, cleaning and change the surface of the watch due to the scratch. Kind of disappointed at first because he said it might brake the second layer glass if he try to pop the 1 need replace, and ask me to come back next day, before I left he told me the price and everything, after 2 hours he call me and tell me my watch is done, I can come to pick it up any time, thats surprise me, and next day when I came to pick up my watch he surprised me again, he done a really good job, replace the glass, clean inside repair some crystal for me, my watch look like brand new. I was looking for a good place to assess and possibly fix my watch. I read the good reviews on google and decided to take it to Mr. W Workshop. The place was a bit hard for me to find as I didnt know about Aberdeen Centre as separate from Aberdeen. I found the layout of the mall a little confusing.

But unfortunately when I did finally find it the store was closed. The owner left a notice on the door. Later found out he was on business trip.

I recommend phoning before you go.

I decided to be patient and wait for his return and phoned the second time. He was apologetic for the closure and very accommodating.

When I took it in he first assessed my watch and took the time to thoroughly inform me what the problem was. He determined that the problem was more drastic than first appeared. I could see he knows his watches by the process.

After assessing the problem and giving me the price quote to fix it he didnt pressure me to fix it immediately. He didnt even expect any payment for his initial appraisal. He gave me time to think about whether I wanted to fix it or not.

After deciding to have him fix it he gave me an estimate of the time it would take to fix and always updated me with photos of what he was doing. He never did anything without my permission. I value that.

I got the watch faster than promised as well. I got a whole new replacement of the internal gears. I also got a new glass, as the old one was scratched, and a new battery.

He also gave me a one year warranty on his work.

I recommend Mr W Workshop. Worth my patience.

I went a year or so ago to get my watch repaired and as it turned out, it was only that the last place had installed the wrong battery and installed it incorrectly. The owner replaced it with the correct battery and the watch worked great again. It was a gift to me 17 years ago and I was very happy that it was something so small. Then last month it was acting up again so I took it back. Again, turned out it was just a dead battery; he processed it as a warranty return on the battery even though I couldn't remember for sure how long it had been since I'd been there before. Very kind. I certainly recommend this place over the only other watch place I'd been to in Richmond. I'll be back for sure.

I brought in three original , Swiss movement watches to Willis: A Baume & Mercier; A Philip Stein; A Sturhling. These are watches that I have bought over time that each required different items of work.

I had each of them fully cleaned and polished. I had a an alligator black leather strap replaced and a movement replaced. In addition, he replaced the batteries on all three as they were quartz.

Willis was able to essentially return the Buame & Mercier and Sthurling to nearly new condition and the Philip Stein very close to looking new.

He is attentive, honest and will give you the truth about whether it’s worth doing certain aspects of work.

I had a scratched up hardlex crystal on my Seiko divers watch that I wanted replaced with a sapphire one instead. I haven't even enjoyed wearing this watch over the last few years because of it. The problem with replacing it with another hardlex is I know I'll have it scratched all over again within a month. The original one was domed and only a flat sapphire one that was 1 mm thinner could be ordered. I went with it and Willis did a perfect job. The non-domed crystal looks and feels completely natural. He even disassembled and went over every single part! The necessary ones were cleaned/lubricated along with all gaskets replaced and a waterproofing test performed. All handed back to me with the correct time and date adjusted. More than reasonable prices and very detail oriented. Trust your watches with Willis!

Willis runs the shop here, and he is very professional and efficient. Took my old Oris watch to have it fixed, he got me a very reasonable quote and even helped me with some after repairs touch up. Definitely recommend this shop to anyone, and there's ample parking too!

Willis is an experienced watch repair technician that's been in the business for many years. The price is very fair, and the workmanship is excellent. He even offers 1 yr warranty for the repairs he did for my automatic watch. If you are to go, go on weekdays as parking is ample.

I brought in an automatic watch that had issues with the miyota movement. Willis repaired it with no issues in a quick amount of time. During the repair he also serviced it and polished out the scuffs at no charge. My watch looks good again!

Willis , the owner and only employee, was kind, fast, and charges less than 1/2 what the Bay charges. I learned after talking to him that he used to work at the bay himself, until he decided to start his own store.
I suggest you call in advance to make sure he is there, and if you need help getting to the store. It is in Aberdeen Square, on the 3rd floor.

I know I will go to him again if I ever need anything done for my watches.

There are very few watch repair shops left anywhere near Richmond. So when I came across a watch bracelet that was giving me a problem, I was glad to find this shop. I went in during the afternoon and the fellow working there was able to help me immediately. I explained the problem I was having, which was that the bracelet had a very unusual type of friction pin and they couldn't be removed to resize the bracelet.

He took the watch and the bracelet and was able to try using some of his tools, however the bracelet seemed to have a problem which even his tools could not fix. We talked about some options, and I was on my way. So, even though my bracelet could not be fixed here, I really appreciated the time he took to look at it and try to fix it for me. He did not charge me for any of his time and I would definitely go back in the future for any of my other watches. I am giving a 5-star rating as the service was perfect and I would expect it would be just as good on any other visit.

Service is good. I had 5 watch batteries changed while I wait. Mr. W is very competent to fix even premium/expensive watches. Price is reasonable. He did extra work like lubricating the O-rings before re-securing the watch back. One thing to note. Please call him before going. He is not always at the shop.

was trying to find somewhere to do some seiko mods. only seen reviews for battery changes for Mr.W. I was in the area one day and came in to check out his shop. It seems as though Mr.W can definitely service automatic watches as he studied abroad for watch making.

I got a few things done here the following month. He resized a Seiko SARB for me. Retrofitted a different Seiko dial on my SKX. And replaced the factory crystal with a domed sapphire crystal on my SKX, Turtle, and Orient Ray. He also helped tighten what seemed to be a loose rotor on my german Junkers ETA movement dress watch.

He did all of this in a timely fashion and at good price. Looking forward to bringing more mods for him. New bezels and ceramic bezel inserts are inbound in the mail :)

Easy, quick repairs. Brought my Cartier watch for a battery replace, came in got out in 15 mins. Reasonable price, highly recommend for anyone needing a watch repair or battery change
